[#1093558]

I am changing job in Jan so will no longer be able to/need to commute by bike. This means that I no longer need my commuter bike - I will either give it to my Dad or break it and sell the bits on the classifieds. The wheels on I brought second hand from here - which are Mavic Crossrides. My 456 has Shimano Deore M505 wheels on it. So should I:

a.) Put the Mavic's on my 456 as they are better wheels and pay £50 for new rotors etc (will need 6 bolt 203 and 180 currently have centrelock)

b.) Just keep the Deore's as there isnt that much real difference between the wheels.

I am planning on getting some new wheels sometime next year inany case as it is the last bit to upgrade on the bike but the Crossrides could be a stop gap!

if your upgrading next year anyway keep them on and save yourself some cash towards your new wheels next year?

Thats what I was thinking but saving for a wedding so might be 6 months before I have enough spare cash together for a decent set of wheels so this might be a good interim measure

I'd take a guess that the Mavics are heavier than your Deore's - Crossrides look good, but they are fairly lardy.

It's not going to make much difference frankly, they'll be reasonably close in weight and stuff, just flog the ones you'll get more money for (probably the Mavics) and put it towards your wedding/new pimpier wheels sometime in the future.

you can get 6 bolt to centre lock adapters if that helps...
