[#9558945]

Would like to set up a dedicated wheel that I can use with my turbo trainer. I have a spare wheel with disc but it is 9 speed and bike is 11. Can I replace the free hub (assuming I can get one) to allow for a bigger cassette or would that not work? It is an Alex G6000 rim with joytech hub. Thanks

How about using an 11 speed MTB cassette?

Anyone tried it? Shifting might be a problem as I think the road cassette sits a bit further from the spokes.

Thinking about it, as a spacer is needed for road 10sp v 11sp (to move the cassette outboard), it suggests the smallest cod sits in the same place relative to the frame (and mech) so shifting should be fine.

Would be worth double checking though.

Yes but I would be going from 9 speed to 11 speed. Is it possible to go up by two cogs on a freewheel that previously held 9?
