Judging by the tyres above this clearly means I'll lose traction on a Tarmac road and die.

On my HT I've got Continental Mountain Kings f & r.
Bonty XR4 expert front and Smorgasbord rear on my fs 27.5.
Anyone know the difference between the expert and team in the Bontrager tyre range ????
Had a contact lens fall out during today's very wet innerleithen ride- if you've absolutely got to ride a load of inners roots with one functioning eye, I recommend having a 2.5 minion on the front 😆

Same combo here. I usually switch to a Slaughter on the back for summer.

front: 2.5 minion dhf dual ply
rear: 2.3 aggressor dual

Rear = Hutchinson Squale 2.3

On the full suss - E13 TRS Race front, Bonty SE5 Team Issue rear.
On the hardtail - WTB Vigilante front, Conti Trail King rear.

Both tubeless.

People don't half run some burly tyres on their 'trail' bikes.Minion/Shorty/Magic Mary etc and in pretty full on casings.
More of a observation....carry on.

Rorschach - I think it depends upon where people are riding. Lot of rocks around here which shredded the casings of several previous tyres including 2 Conti X King Protections.

Was looking for first ever 650b tyre pair and found this thread and from memory recalled Butcher front/Purgatory rear combo so went with that in grid casings.
Now I have them though I keep looking at them thinking Purgatory looks grippier so I'd prefer it on the front while the Butcher with it's ramped middle knobs would roll better on the back.
Yes/No?

Magic Mary Ultrasoft Addix Super Gravity on the front, 2.3 double down Minion DHR II on the rear.
Tempted by 2.4 DHR IIs front and rear - with the Minaar cut on the front.

Well I've never actually run either, but as a name combo it's got to be the winner.
Shorty 2.5 whatever front, Shorty 2.3 whatever rear (just changed from minion SS)
snow is coming soon so only 6 weeks of riding left really
Sirromj - With my Grid Butcher/Purg combo I thought the Purg was wider on the rear than the Butch on the front, measured up to be too (just). The Grids a great sidewall though and the tyres worked well if a little draggy on the rear for me.
Now winters coming, Shorty 2.5 WT Front and DHF 2.5 WT Rear, worked well at the Naughty at the weekend
FS - Butcher on front, Ground Control on rear
HT - High Roller 2 on front Ardent on rear
Currently running tubes but going tubeless very very soon. 😀
