I'd like to convert my Giant Trance 3 2017 wheelset to tubeless. It has a XC-1 wheelset which I believe has an internal width of 23mm. Can anyone help with what size tape I need?

If its 23mm then a 25mm tape would be ideal.

Depends on the shape of the rim bed, the more it dips down the wider the tape needs to be.

Inner width + 5mm is what WTB advise, tends to work for me..

I used to get rim tape to accurately fit rim bed but Ive found using wider tape and then cutting with a really sharp blade better - With wider tape you can cut tape right up to the upper height of the rim bead . .

Benpinnick's nailed it but just as a more general point- as rims get wider, I've found it useful to go narrower. Once the valley in the rim is big enough, you can tape just that and it works fantastically, because the tyre no longer sits on the tape at all- meaning it does away with that thing that sometimes happens where the tyre damages the tape as you remove it.ย  It won't help the OP but could be good for other readers
