I currently wear a pair of DC skate shoes, but they are wearing out a bit and my feet tend to suffer on uplifts and in the alps. However having size 13/14 feet i'm struggling to find anything bike specific. So can anyone recommend anything that will fit and doesn't cost a fortune or look like 'special' shoes (like Five Tens)? Thanks.
I think a couple of the 5 ten freerides come in size 13, the freerides also look a lot better than the classic 5 tens. I have a pair of Teva bike shoes in 13, they aren't as sticky as 5 tens but are pretty good, a hard waffle inner sole with a tacky outer.
They also clean easy, spray them down and the mud just sheds off.
I wear Vans mate, shop about and buy what's cheap. I've never seen a pair in "our" size. I did look at buying a pair and having the 5:10 rubber on them though...let me know if you find some!! 😀
Before the current DCs I wore Vans, but I'm finding that the current fashion seems to be for skate shoes that are more like plimsolls than 'traditional' skate shoes which makes things even harder when looking for size freak shoes!
