Planning to convert this into a 8speed alfine:

Getting the hub, sprocket, fit kit from Petra Cycles.
And JTek bar end shifter from Planet X.
But stuck on the rear wheel build. Thinking of a Mavic Open Pro silver 32H rim. Will this be strong enough with the large hub, for commuting duty? (i'm light at 63kg). As the wheel will be dishless will it be stronger anyway so can get away with a open pro and 32 spokes?
Anyone running a alfine 700c wheel? What rim do you use?

I'm just waiting for the WH-S501 Alfine wheel. 700c, centre-lock disk, 135mm OLD. I reckon on a set of those Versa STIs to go with it.

it'll be fine with whatever 'man's rim' you choose. honestly. no big deal.
