[Closed] What rear mech do I want and where's cheapest?

I managed to knacker my rear mech last weekend, and I'm a bit confused by the range of rear mechs available. I have a 2x9 setup - can't remember the sizes offhand apart from I have a 36T 'big ring' on the front.
Ideally I'd like the shortest cage rear mech I can get away with.
