I'd have a look at the new 661 Rampage when it's out (bout a month or so)

Basically an updated Kykle Strait plus shin protection, awesome!

I use 661 4x4s. Lightweight, not bulky. Not rugged enough for downhill but nice for everyday riding.

Jedi, really like the look of those Scotts but can't find anywhere to buy them.

My local Scott dealer say it will take over a month to get them.

Hence my search for alternatives.

I'm using POC Bones. I guess I'm not exactly riding XC and they're quite heavy duty but the reason I recommend them is that the articulated knee means they're very comfortable for pedalling. I use them all the time because they're a lot comfier than the RaceFace knee/shin's and the 661 knee's that I also own.

I did a little write up on the site if you want to see more.

Depends on how lightweight you want but I'm really impressed with my G-Form ones. Very breathable, stay in place when pedalling and from the one off I've had since I got them they offer decent protection too.

Really like my Raceface Ambush, prefer them to the 661 Kyle Straits, and Fox Launch I had before.

CRC are doing them for less than half price at the mo ๐Ÿ™‚
