I've been using shitty wee lights for years, but with 200 to spend I'd opt for Exposure.

UK company.

I don’t know what you’d buy from exposure for £200 that would make a decent bar light. Toro if you can find an outrageously cheap deal perhaps or maybe a Race. Whilst I recently bought a Maxx d and think it’s amazing I don’t know if I’d pay £200+ to squeak a toro.

I’d be tempted to have a look at the MTB Batteries Lumenator, the Halfords Advanced 1600, Moon X Power 1800 and the Hope R4.

I got a Toro recently and it's great but I think you'd be lucky to find a new one for £200. They're expensive and you can definitely get good lights for less, but I'm very happy with mine after using it for a month.

The Exposure Race looks like the same body and runtime with 2/3 of the light output and would be closer to budget.

Really happy with my Toro. Got my mk 12 for £236 so bit over budget.Reflex mode seems to work well 3hrs on full power so plenty of time for my night rides.

I've just ordered a Magic Shine Monteer 3500 from Magic Shine UK, £160. Thought it looked like a reasonable balance of not ridiculous money for a good spec. Will see.

I’d be looking at Moon. My little lx360 has lasted years, has a replaceable battery and a handy remote switch.
This is their high output one:

4000lm (moon tend to be accurate £209)
But external battery pack.

Exposure Toro mk11 (last years model) can be picked up for just a shade over £200

How about 2nd hand as Exposure's warranty is very good, lifetime on l.e.d's 2 years on battery, there is no mention on their website about non transfer of warranty and they are pretty good for fixing lights out of warranty for free/very cheaply

Wouldn't be without my Exposure six pack and Diablo, Ive had them for 3 years now, expensive to buy but they last and hold good value if you ever decide to sell

I had a moon meteor pro with 1800 lumen I think, I get them for 65 quid as mate works at Raleigh who distribute, I have managed to lose it and now want something a bit brighter, did not realise they did external battery ones do will have a look. I really like exposure but they are pricey.

If you can wait until the summer, I picked up an Evans return exposure 6pack for about 210 on their eBay store

I've just bought a Lumenator from MTB batteries as I already had one of his batteries. Looks good but not tried out yet. But he's great to deal with.

The Magic Shine Monteer looks interesting, but can't find any info on runtimes, apart from at full power.

I’ve had a good experience with all the lights I’ve had from Moon. As per the above link I’d be tempted to try the below:

Here you go:

Under Additional Information.

This is the light I am looking at, got 2 Magicshine lights at the moment and they have been great.

I’d go Exposure if you can find what you want/need for the right money. I just replaced my old Hope Vision 4 on the bars with a Toro, got it for about £240 I think so over budget but brilliant.

As above, second hand is a good option. I wouldn’t count on much in the way of warranty for second hand as I’ve had to send in my flash/flare previously and was asked for proof of purchase. That said, I’ve got a mk4 Diablo that I still use every week - picked that up on eBay about 10 years ago!

I have a Moon xpower 2500lmn and it’s flipping bright. You could easily go for the 1800lmn version and have ample light.

On second highest setting you’ll easily get 3hr ride from it.

Clamp is great, external battery is well sealed and the remote switch is pretty good too.
