They're basically cross or similar drop-bar bikes running big tyres on 700c wheels - narrower 29er tyres typically. They have the big plus of mixing about three niche bikes in one, four if you singlespeed one...

Somewhere just over the borderline of that is drop-barred 29er mountain bikes, gawd only knows where one starts and the other ends...

They ride like cross bikes with fat tyres on ๐Ÿ™‚

Mollski-Van dessel W.T.F,not mine unfortunately although I am getting a salsa La Cruz which should be pretty similar.

That is nice.
Monster cross bikes are a lot of fun. Surly cross checks are a good frame choice as you can go to 47mm tyres.

Also a bit like this. Rides nice, as they'd say if they were reviewing it in Max Power

Slightly concerned I might be overposting pics of this bike, it just seems to be an answer to lots of questions at the moment!

Ah, but that's because a Peregrine is the answer to a lot of questions!
(I won't post mine nor my Gryphon this time then).
