...as above. Something that will be used on road, grass etc. around 1.75-2.0 width.

are we talking 700c?

28mm Conti Top Touring have a bit of tread and work well. Not as wide as you suggest though - 2.0 is WIDE

Specialized Crossroads Armadillo in 26 or 700. Got both sizes and they have lasted well and are almost puncture proof ..... I ride some very glass strewn streets and paths and regularly dig shards out of the tread that have not got through.

I used Schwalbe Land Cruiser while cycle touring New Zealand, seemed to roll well and could cope with light offroad use. Others there were using the marathon tyre.
I'm sure both come in the size you require and be suitable for a hybrid.

I've been using the 1.75 Marathon Cross on my 26" wheeled bike. They roll pretty well and have a bit more open/deep tread than a normal Marathon. They are also available as a 700x38c. Puncture protection and a reflective strip make then even better for commuting.
