Just discovered 4 torq gels in a cupboard that went out of date in oct 2010, will they give me a 7 on the bristol stool scale?
They'll be fine. I've eaten gels far older than that.
They don't taste good anyway, so they won't get any worse tastewise
what he said
Except in the case of eggs, "best before" dates are about quality, not safety. When the date is passed, it doesn't mean that the food will be harmful, but it might begin to lose its flavour and texture.
Absolutely no risk whatsoever of anything as very little flavour or texture to loose
sweet, i'll give them a go but should things go awry each one of you can expect a photo in your inbox...
I had one that was BB Nov 09 on Sat and it was okay.

I had a bottle of Guinness 22 years past it's sell by date once. Tasted better than a gel pack.
what happens to energy gels after the best before date?
They become energy Bars! ๐
they turn into a monster ball of gel : An alien lifeform consumes everything in its path as it grows and grows. ๐ฟ
be scared run for your life... ๐
Past a Best before date = it might not be as good as it should be.
Past a Use by date = it could well be minging! (Eggs are a use by date)
EU law - dam stoopid, and egg is obvious when it's gone off! Strangely I think wine is one of the few food items that doesn't need a daft date stuck on it.
Best Before is only advisory, a retailer can legally continue to sell the item long after (as long as they mark it as past it's bb). So, you won't have any probs consuming it a long time after.
Sell By and Use By dating is different and used on more perishable goods.
I ate an October 2007 Torq bar on Sunday.
Still here, working as an accountant
They are just a bit older than the sell by date ๐
