Gonna be commuting a bit over the summer on a mix of road, tracks and urban dereliction (well it is Manc 😉 which doesn't really seem to suit the road bike and don't want to use the full sus Santa Cruz for obvious reasons, so looking to pick up a secondhand hardtail. Been looking on eBay and there just seems to be loads of tat going for silly money. What's your thoughts on sensible options for not too much money? Functional, fun to ride but undesirable to local scrotes would be ideal!
Liking my Boardman hybrid... Can't squeeze in big big tyres and mudguards mind but it's happilly taking 700x35 Kojaks. Can pick them up for small amounts of money used.
Ta, worth a thought - not really considered hybrids but will take a look. Flat bars and discs preferred so hybrid could be an option.
