Haven't got a clue about road/cx bars.... On A bit of a budget but what's good all round bars? Was looking at pro plt bars and stem (about 10 different sizes to choose from though), charge spoon seat? Bar tape?
Thanks in advance and apologies for boring everyone with what part threads.

Pro PLT bars and stem are spot on (I like the compact bars) and good enough for big Erwin to win the World Champs on.
Fizik tape is grippy and holds up to CX use well.

adjustable stem is what I used.
That doesn't help in the stem length but at least gives an idea of rise.

Salsa Cowbell bars here. No complaints. Or FSA Versa possibly.

Bar tape - got something cheap to begin with to practice bar taping, on assumption I'd get it wrong, and assuming lever positions would change - Lizard Skins now that positions have settled down.

grippy when wet and muddy.

Stem was one that made the geometry correct.

Bars are FSA Vero compact because I don't need long drops and find these more comfortable.

Seat is a cheapo one that was very light. I only ride it for an hour most of the time so not that critical. Switch it to the one of my full suss for long rides when I do them.
