I'm thinking about starting to use my 29er HT for commuting so would want to change the tyres for something a bit more suitable for road use.
What tyres are good for road/towpath riding?

Big Apples if you don't need any kind of grip off Tarmac.

If you still plan on using the bike offroad at all, look at Geax Saguaro's or Maxxis Crossmark as both roll very well yet still work pretty well offroad.

Racing Ralphs roll well and give a bit of grip off-road too.

Just in case you hadn't realized you have the whole world of 700c road tyres available to you. The only limit being the that if you have wide rims then you can't fit really thin tyres.

So there are probably hundreds of commuter and touring tyres that we would be ideal.

A big decision is how much puncher proofing you want. Things like Schwalbe Marathons are puncture resistant but IMHO they role less well

Big Apples Are great. My recommendation would be Panaracer Pasela probably in the largest size 37c I think

I use land cruisers on the MTB on the Turbo trainer so they must be fine on Tarmac ๐Ÿ™‚
