Congratulations to the big man on doing the West Highland Way double in 36hrs.
Epic
when??
Friday Saturday past
Well done George we'll see you on Friday avo you can tell us about it then.
Wow that awesome.
Now that is impressive!
how come non of the proper endurance men have done this.
can't be that hard if george did it 1st. ffs, i beat him up minch moor t'other xmas........ 8)
he has always commented that it would not be one of the usual racer suspects that would complete this first, but that it would be more or a mountain man
did he do it by bike - never saw any other cyclists ..... other than pannier laden folks
Awesome. Hats off!
Mr C you troll!
its all true, i was there to help him set off and waited for him for 3 hours until he arrived.
35hrs 42mins i believe.
Awesome
so thats why Bristol & dublin airports were running flights late, and I thought it'd come from the volcano again! well done G!
high5 george!
This is awesome news, please pass on my congratulations to the guy. I can't wait to read about his adventure and if he'd like a mention on my blog please ask him to get in touch.
I'm really pleased that the 7ds is doing what it set out to - inspire others - there are two others attempting the WHW Double next month so with this ride that makes 3 already. Really great.
I hope he recovers well and that he tells the story as it will surely inspire many tohers to have a great adventure.

I've heard the met office can see the dust trails from their weather satellites now.
Conclusive proof if any was needed.
I stand corrected then! Well done George! (Actually i'm in shock )

Given the lack of GPS tracker files, blog, pictures etc it'll have to be conclusive proof!
Glupton i.e. Smee/Trolling Zoo Fighter etc etc?
Did he leave those on the trails in a cloud of dust on his singlespeed?
Wow, good work! Admirable lack of fanfare as well ๐
Would be interested to know the pacing, 36 hours must have included lots of mini-stops, one mega stop, or just a very gradual pace for the whole thing? Assuming for someone like Glupton that it would be approx 14 hours there, maybe slightly less back?
Gearing up for a slightly reluctant one way attempt next weekend, suddenly feels like we're not trying!

This will all make far more sense to you when you try it one way ๐
imo 36 hrs is on the money for this challenge. First thing that struck me about RL attempt was that his pace was far too high.
Oh and respect to the guy whoever he is.
Given the amount of BS he talks on here I'd really like to see some evidence. ๐
+1 for evidence given his reputation.
I feel a spoof thread in the making.....
How he is kept it quiet on Facebook beggars belief, he is not known for hiding his triumphant trumpet ๐
+3 for evidence ma lud'
I stand corrected (bows head in shame).
Pics have been seen, albeit not sure on the time taken but he has done it.
BUGGER ๐
Walter Mitty-esque IMHO
WhatafakinLiberty LOL!
Ou sont les pics?
There will be no photos or story published. As i'm sure you are all aware, it's just not his style.
Sniff ๐

*Swoon*
Picture of the man railing some of the trail 35 miles into the challenge. Hats off to him, bigger man than me.

Crianlarich?
in the rain as well, bloody hell.
you were not suppost to show that!
Chapeau Glupton/TZF/Smee/Jimmyshand etc
Innerleithen? 3 years ago? ๐
Glupton who??
St Ronans Wood ? - oh no can't be - he walked that ๐
At least the rain kept the dust down. I have relatives about to fly in and was worried about cancellations!
Am I missing something here - other than someone meeting him in the carpark at the end of the ride is there any 'proof' that he actually did the ride.
I'm willing to accept 'he just has' as an answer I just wondered if, given his track record, that was enough?
Just managed to get another pic of him negotiating one of the numerous, treacherous rivers crossings...God he is an animal

Spoof thread confirmed! The sun's shining in that second pic, that doesn't happen.
That's 10 Under The Ben ๐
I though the picture was 'for illustrative purposes only' to prove that Glupton might own a bike, albeit that he carries it.
