[#9931759]

Took Samuel out for a ride to mugdock country park which gave me the opertunity to test some mic positions on the bike and get samuel riding on some more technical trails.  Wee bum doesn't listen to me at all and day dreams on the bike.  He'll get there eventually.

on the train going there

at the top having hot chocolate and cake

bikes needing a clean on the way back

some video of our day.

Great wee video Poah lol@ 'don't brake..keep going'

Night of the toad on my local woods night ride. Out in force and having little meetings in groups of 3 or 4 on the track.

Fun dodging them, but I might have squished a couple on my way back, eeek sorry little guy.

Great first propper outing on the new bike in the Peaks today. It was oddly busy everywhere apart from Lady Cannings. Lots of mud and gloop mind.

Thought Staveley Green Quarter would be a good idea to kick off a day out. It wasn't.

Still a nice ride once I escaped from Kentmere though.

28 miles in the Peak District - Eastern moors loop and Stanage Edge. Pretty mild  and ground reasonably dry.

No pics but Ive had a decent weekends riding again.

Spent yesterday in The Lakes, first ride there in 9 months. It was wet, hilly and nearly 50km... But by God it felt good. Finished off in the bakery @ Staveley with a hot beef ciabatta and a brew. Had a ride out round Rivington today before helmet shopping at Leisure Lakes in Bury.

Check out Back in The Lakes... Get in!! on Relive!

Check out Rivington loops before lid shopping on Relive!

Tomorrows plan is a local (probably cheeky) route round The Goyt, and a few beers in the pub.

Had a day off (in-lieu for Good Friday) on Friday, headed out on the Spearfish to get accustomed to it - had a blast over to Settle and back. A bit early for summer tyres methinks

Saturday was a damp ride on the single speed.

Today was an imperial century on the road bike. Nice dry roads but the potholes were something else.

Got dropped off by the b/h at Kielder this afternoon ( couldn't get out with friends yesterday ) ..for a one way trip down to Falstone where I was being picked up at her sisters farm ..

Started off on the Osprey Trail ( Blue ) ..Ive said it before but if you want some fast flowing singletrack albeit without any jumps or tech sections then this has some of the best trails in the forest ..I love it .

Upon joining the North Haul road / Lakeside Way ..I stuck to the road and went over Black Belling bridleway  to drop into Falstone ..

Pics ..

Osprey Trail ..

Leaving the man made trail behind ..the start of the climb on the Black Belling bridleway ..

20180408_162621 by Neil Hodgson - Flickr2BBcode LITE

It soon became apparent that the bridleway had been quite heavily used by a running race ..which being wet at the best of times did nothing to improve the trail..the stony bits though were as good as ever ..

Archer Spring Criterium, A 25 mile TT, then half of PAris-Roubaix on the rollers. Rest day tomorrow.  You don’t want to see photos of the last two.

Poah ..you are too demanding !😁

I thought Samuel did great ..he tackled some tech sections there and came out smiling ..

I liked his last comment " Ive got mud in my teeth ( spit ) "..

Hope you checked that's all it was !

Had a very damp and gritty ride at Cannock with the wife on Saturday morning. Then managed a shade under 40k in the Peak on my own Sunday. All in all a pretty good weekend 😁
