just put on my winter tyres , mud X tubeless, and the rear is really out of shape (quite comedy riding on them ๐ ). This will be their 4th winter and have been stored rolled up. My question is what are my options ? do I leave them on in hope there return to the correct shape. Run with a inner tube at high pressure. Leave them off the bike with an over inflated tube inside ? Bin them ? Anyone got a good solution.
thinking about it, it was probably caused by standing and being low on air when last on the bike ๐ณ
hmm, well they should stretch much so id assume unless the internals are rotted and it has come apart you could get it back
First thing i'd check with Bontrager tyres is if it's seated correctly, a bit of soapy water around the bead prior to inflation helps greatly.
had the tyre off to repair a small hole that was preventing me upping the pressure past 40 psi, whacked in 65 psi still a little wobbly but ride-able at least. I guess a few rides it will be back to shape enough to run at "normal" pressures. I was wondering whether it could be caused by 4 yrs build up of stans gunk, theres awful lot of dried latex in there but it's a real PIA to remove.
