Hi,
I've found that my Rotors are warped slightly, does this normally happen, or is my hub going strange on me?
Yup and Nope. I find that the hotter the rotors get the more warp - the floating rotors are supposed to dissipate heat better and prevent some degree of warping. Some arotors warp more than others IMHO - my old hope mono minis warp quite a lot.
cheers FR, I'll get some more then..... I've taken a few falls recently and wondered if it was maybe due to that as well...
adjustable spanner time!
Yeh don't bin them unless they are knackered - use an adjustable spanner like cynic said to rebend them - gently - like truing a wheel! save ya money?
cool, thanks for the advice, I did see a 'rotor trueing fork' in the LBS. I wondered what it was for... I was going to flick my rotor to see if it came up with a nice 'ping'
Do lots of little bends rather than one big bend. I've spent ages trying to get everything back after being a little too enthusiastic with the spanner.

the material is so springy you need to bend them a LOT further than you'd think
I just mean't not to be too over zealous Simon ๐

Bang on. I've straightened loads of rotors doing predeliveries. Little and careful is the rule and check often.
Many rotors (and derailleurs) are slightly bent on out of the box bikes - most likely because of mishandling by transport companies.
Thanks for the advice,
Is it a quickish job to do?
I have a 3 stage MTB race coming up this Friday
I found hayes rotors warp easily, It only takes two mins to straighten them with a spanner though
