Hi people.
Have you built up a 29er using your old bits.
Will a triple chain set fit?
Apart from forks and tyres is there anything else that may not fit?
Gears are all the same. No problem,
Yes, it'll all fit. Effectively you'll be geared about 10% higher.
Feels about 2t higher "in real life"
Also, selling a 29er fork + wheels, but not advertised yet, if you're interested ๐ (cheapish wheels and suntour raidons, 15mm thru front, new in jan but I caught the bug and upgraded)
Well, it's going to depend on what your current setup is. I'm in the process of doing this and have had to buy the following so far:-
Seatpost - 27.2 to 31.6 and clamp
BB - New frame is Press Fit
Headset - New frame is tapered
You may also have to consider stem length and bars. In my experience you may need a shorter stem and flat bars with a bit of a sweep.
I've done it, I changed the frame, fork, wheels and bars as my old ones were high rise,I got a second hand frame off here that came with a headset so no need to buy one, and the seatpost was the same size too, potentially you'll need a new headset, seatpost and clamp and front mech depending on what frame you get
And when you budget for wheels don't forget to budget for tyres as well, and new cables and check your brake hoses are long enough too'

....and the good news is Khani has since learned how to paint a fence and put a chain stay protector on the right way up ๐
AHA!! Cockyarse...the chain stay protector was printed upside down from cotic, it's tapered to fit the chainstay so will only go on that way... ๐
I'll concede the shoddy fence tho.... ๐ณ
