Been thinking of a sports watch for tracking non cycling activity and seen a deal on these - any real world experience?

Not that fussed by the smar****ch aspect, so open to alternative suggestions.

DC Rainmaker is the first stop for any sports related tech:

A mate who tests this stuff basically says all the other Wahoo GPS electronic things are great, but the Rival is the one exception. Not firsthand I know, but I'd be looking elsewhere.

The missus uses a Coros, one of the mid-range ones, and loves it - easy to use, reliable, good battery life etc.

Yes, I see dcrainmaker was underwhelmed, not sure if it's been updated since that review was done.

Will look at the Coros ones as well

It can’t count swim lengths to save its life.  Outdoors no issues but laughable in the pool.  Not a major issue if you don’t swim though. I keep it as have a Roam on the bike and just wanted one app to keep track of all activity.

I think I'd be a bit wary They never really took off, they've not released an updated version, and now they seem to be selling them off cheap. I'd be worried that there's going to be no support for them in the near future.
