I want to fit a towball to my v60 to avoid marking the beige boot interior with oil (I didn't spec it, not my fault). Theres a few places online that sell the bits as self-fit kits, are they easy to self-fit?

Wrong forum. But it's for a bike rack so maybe not 😉

I assume you mean towbar. On modern cars all the fixing points will be there on the chassis so bolting up shouldn't be a problem. You may have to remove the bumper and even put a cut into it for the bar to fit.
Wiring is a different thing. If your car has a plug ready wired in from the factory and the bar comes with correct electrics for it then just plug in.But it may need to go to a main dealers to have the cars electrics reprogrammed. My Mondeo has an aftermarket towbar and electrics and when towing the engine " hiccups" occasionally.A sticker in the boot advises reprogramming if a towbar is fitted.

My V50 has a towbar which is aftermarket and seems easy if you needed to fit it. The wiring is nasty, all scotchblocks. Wanted to take the caravan electrics off and leave the rear light socket on, but was such a mess I just hid the socket underneath ! Volvos have canbus and the like and scares me and as said may need reprogramming to say a towbar is installed too.

Get a Witter towbar and the Volvo electrics. You will need to get the software updated by Volvo but it cost me about £30 to get done.

I'll look at what I ordered and let you know. Fitting wise, biggest pain was taking the bumper off other than that it takes no more than two hours.

Hope this helps
Matt
