I was looking for the likes of a genesis flyer to use for commuting around 6 flattish miles each way into city centre as bike will be locked up outside office. Needs to take rack and guards.
then stumbled on the vitus vee ss for £199, seems a good deal, or will it need loads of upgrades from cheap parts to make it that price. anything else to consider?

I have one, it's a great work horse. I have 35c Land Cruisers on mine & full mudguards & a Mary bar. My stock freehub went after the first winter so I fitted a Shimano one. The hubs don't have much grease in them so well worth a quick strip and pack with grease. Upgrade the pads when they wear.. Love mine for my 3mile flat commute & forays into town along the canal, year round.
