Could you build a dropper post with bearings pressed into the seat tube?

Wouldn't it be far lighter than conventional dropper posts?

BMC have done an integrated dropper.

But why would you want a bearing? The last thing you want a dropper to do is rotate, and it's not as if less stiction is really an issue...

Great thanks. Didn’t want another FS. Ever. Wasn’t looking to start drooling over XC bikes again. Possibly ever. See what you did? A bike that I could probably never afford (or justify)

Lust sounds weird in context.

That would actually be *really* useful for commuting - rather than uncomfortably twisting around to see traffic behind you, just flick a lever and rotate the saddle to quickly and effortlessly eyeball the juggernaut bearing down on you!

(Or a mirror, but that's not as cool).
