B all the way

I commute as well but it’s a 1.5 mile round trip

I am lucky though, my local trails are from my door

Roughly:
90% B
10% A

Used to be more like 50/50, but running has eaten into the road riding considerably. And I sold my winter bike when prices went nuts last year.

Because it isn’t a B forum, how can it be if only 10% of the members actually B

given that this v unscientific poll clearly shows that’s not the case, I reckon this is still a mostly B site

You forgot G) cyclocross

But when you’re not between the tapes, isn’t G) really just C)? 😉

Depends on whether your normal c rides invole cycling to a grassy area with a bunch of cones and trying not to vomit as you taste iron 🙂

Only ever B, but electric B only.
With the occasional E commute, again electric only.

A: 40%
B: 25%
C: 10% (the trails are just a mess at the moment)
E: 25% (commuting, 10% kids which is usually MTB but doesn't really count)

Mostly B, though some of my B rides could be done on a gravel, i've just got no desire for a specific bike for it.

Some A (on a hybrid) when i can't face the mud or i'm cycling to work in the winter outside of covid lockdowns

Last year was a 50/50 mix of B and C due to covid but normally I mostly ride B. Since mid-Dec, F

B
and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d rather sit on a turbo trainer than actually ride on the road.

Used to be a mix of B (mtb 40-50%), and an even split of xbike off-road (not going to call it gravel as a fair bit is riding tracks or rd to xc-type mtb stuff) and road (to commute/get fit). But last year was 90% mtb, 10% xbike, as no commuting and nothing much to get fit for. Only had the road bike out 4-5 times. So B.

A & B, roughly 50/50. Enjoy B more, it has to be said.

In my mind its C, but it might actually be A.

My riding has changed quite significantly through 2020, lockdown, blah blah. 12 months ago I was starting to toy with idea of buying a new bike, the entire shortlist might as well be scrapped now.

Probably D for me (more A than anything else in the last year, but more B and C the year before that).

B

I own a C which does gravel and commuting occasionally but mainly gets used when I don't have the time or inclination to get slarted up in mud.

E / F
Have retired from DH/Enduro/alps/gnarr - would rather be out walking with the dog nowadays. Have a Transition Klunker for cruising about on and a flat bar ebike for commuting.

D all riding is good.

Normally lots of long road commutes but WFH since xmas and the roads having been mostly unraidable because of snow close to home (putting the bike in the car to ride to get away from the snow would feel all kinds of wrong) since then so it has been lots of epic snowy mtb.

Need a fat bike. Need a fat bike.

For this topic to have had any use it needed to be an official poll or include a google form....

B. Starting to consider longer mixed road/bridleway trips though, which might result in a different bike!

Over the last year mostly C, but this year mostly A as it's just too wet currently.
Since December been running 3 times a week.

B, although probably 80% of that would probably be quicker on a gravel bike. But it’s the last 20% that I ride for: twisty, rooty steep as possible singletrack. Getting to those bits of trail is means to an end for me so not looking to get a gravel bike anytime soon.

Always feel like I don’t fit the pigeon hole with these things.
But mostly B - roughly 50:50 mix of full suss trail bike and rigid 650b+ s/s.
Use the single speed for days out and longer rides with the missus, mix of lanes and trails.
Road bike for turbo use - doubt the front wheel as done much more than 500 rotations.

Over the last few years since having kids, mostly A, transitioning to C over the last year. The MTB was mostly used for kid hauling duties.

Although now rebuilt as 29 front/B+ rear fully rigid for mud plugging, and i'm having so much fun. The gravel bike is on the trainer inside and I use the MTB for all my non-interval sessions and general dicking around outside
