Evening all, random one for you , in the past I have used various UST and Schwalbe tubeless ready tyres on my 819s and crosstrail rims with fluid but just wondering if I could fit a tyre with a wire or Kevlar bead and still run them tubeless
Has anyone had any success in fitting "normal" tyres to the above rims and running them tubeless using stans fluid
I use various normal tyres on stans rims, or on mavic rims with a rim strip so I am sure it would work on an 819 rim. I find there is normally a couple of days of slight air loss as the side walls get sealed by the sealant then all is fine. and it saves loads of money and weight over proper UST
I've used bonty big earl 2.3, they worked very well. highroller 2.1, 2.3 single and double ply, wire and folding, all were ok. Minion non UST also fine. Only problem I had were with maxxis exception series but that is because I kept tearing the light sidewalls.
