Anybody know what size you can get on the rear as some blow up more than others IYKWIM

As far as I remember, 2.35s were about the fattest you could get and still have decent mud clearance. I used Maxxis High Roller 2.35s on mine with no problems whatsoever, but something like the Advantage 2.4 would not fit.
I also used Syncros BHT 2.35s as well.
Even with these on, I still used to get deep scoring of the cross brace between the seat stays.
2.35 nevegals on mine
I wouldn't want to go much bigger than a 2.2 for adequate mud clearance, but then this all depends on which tyre - they vary so much in size! Maxxis 2.35's are smaller than some 2.1's I've had.
I have some 2.2 Continental Rubber Queens, and I tried them in wintery conditions a few months ago - cycled through some woods and I soon ground to a halt when sticks, leaves, branches, small children and the like got caught between tyre and cross brace. But the Conti RQ's are MASSIVE tyres!
Running 2.25" Schwalbes on mine (Racing Ralphs) with just the right level of clearance. Wouldn't want to run anything much bigger.
Cheers folks . 2.25 - 2.35 MAX depending on tyre it is then .
If 2.35" high rollers are on the limit, then 2.25" advantages/ardents/crossmarks will be too big, as they're the same sort of size as 2.5" High rollers
