[Closed] Tyre / Chain stay clearance minimum?

CX bike, not used for racing or mudplugging, is about 4mm each sidebetween sidewall and chainstay too little?

There is plenty of clearance in front of the tyre and the sidewall is wider than the tread (40mm Nano)

It's rather hard to actually get a photo

Tape the stays and take it for a short ride with corners, hills and hilly corners.

What clearance you have in the garage is not necessarily what you'll have when pushing hard out of the saddle with everything flexing.
Tape it (as mentioned above) and ride hard out of the saddle in a gear too high up a steep hill.

FFF - Fatties Fit Fine. go nuts and use the tape if you're unsure.

I bet it depends more on your local mud than anything else. 4mm in the chilterns would be tough
