My summer fan has packed in and am struggling with my puny winter one as the temperatures soar. Want to make sure i get one that'll shift a good volume of air. About 45cm max. It'd be sat on a desk when running. Pleasing aesthetics would be a bonus 🙂 Thanks.

If you sweat like me on one ! Those boys should sort you out.
Nice that. Might be a bit industrial for around the house!
Just spotted this 24 incher at screwfix, looks like it could be up to the job.
the aberdeen air is good fan - move up here - hasnt been low wind for weeks.months it feels like
Bit far to go trail rat, and it's getting toasty down south.
I just have a cheap massive free-standing thing. Cost me about 30e and even at low speeds because the blades are about 50cm long it shifts a lot of air.
One thing I'm going to ensure I get with my next fan (next fan?!) is a remote. In the winter when it's 2deg it's too cold to start the fan when you start off, but after 5-10mins I need it, so a remote would be ideal. The gf is getting tired of me phoning her in the house and asking her to come to the garage and turn my fan on.
Matter of fact I could just buy a remote plug/socket thing so that would do it.
Good idea, though mine is sat on the desk in front of me so no need to inconvenience mrs blobby with turning on/off duties.
Just in case anyone is following this thread and can't wait to know outcome of my fan deliberations... I finally went for an 18 inch floor fan from screwfix. Just had a spin on the turbo and on full whack it makes a massive difference. Most pleased 🙂
Good to hear .... Fan-tastic even
I've got the £30 / 18" screwfix one as well, works great on the minimum setting, beyond that it's actualy like ridind into a headwind!
Not wisper quiet (quieter than a fan turbo, but not as quiet as a mag one), but not loud enogh to annoy anyone else in the house more than the turbo already does, mines set up in the small 3rd bedroom so in winter I just open wthe window and turnt he fan on, by the time I'm warmed up the room is whatever the outside temp is!
Tinas, you got in there in time, now up to fifty quid 👿 Still money well spent.
