My bike was set up tubeless when I bought it.

I changed my front tyre last week and it seemed to go well, however it was just lulling me into a false sense of security. I went to check tyre pressures today, ready for Malvern tomorrow, and the tyre was flatter than an anorexic supermodel. Closer inspection revealed that it was leaking from the valve. So I tightened it up. Now it’s leaking from the spokes! What the fudge is going on? I did don’t disturb the valve or tape when I changed the tyre.

what have I done wrong and how do I fix it?

From The valve is common.. I usually just tighten it up. From the spokes is a bit more unusual especially if set up tubeless already. Have you nipped the tape and made a hole?

Stick in somemore sealant and go for a ride. If I inflate the tyre then leave it without riding its usually flat after a few hours.

If its leaking from the spokes then there must be a tape issue as I understand it (assuming the valve is sealed tight and not letting air into the rim bed past the tape. I’m not sure more sealant is the answer.

I suspect it needs re-taping with my limited tubeless experience.

If it's leaking from the vale or the spokes, you tape isn't working & it's finding the easiest place to escape (usually the valve hole).

Retape it, and it will stop.

Ive been having the exact same problem ,happened after i came down hard on the front wheel 4 rides ago,i initially thought too tighten valve as air seemed tobe coming thru that area so tightened, not the case, after going 2 miles down the road went flat, yesterday had tyre off, valve out then some gorilla tape on top of whats there around valve hole and some more sealant, its held up over night so will be outshortly for third offroad attempt too see if its held, fingers crossed.

goodluck!!

tubeless ready or set up tubeless?

The bike came set up as tubeless. Had no pressures issues until I changed the front tyre last weekend.

I'll just blow it up again and take a tube with me for today. 🙁

Re-taping will solve it.  I use gorilla tape - it works better than the standard tubeless tape.

Probably damaged the tape when you changed the tyre.
