i've done it before no probs...

slx crank with the bolts on the opposite side to the arm. loosen bolts. jangle it about. nowt happens. why not?

how do i get the bastid cranks out?

Have you remover the preload bolt? There is also a small clip that gose between the two pinch bolts that pushes into a small eye on the axle you need to pop that out too not totally remove it as it hinges on one of the pinch bolts.

If it's like XT/Saint:

you've taken the end cap off ?
you've lifted up the little clippy thing thst sits in the slot where the bolts clamp up ?

Well then MTFU and get it off

as scaredy says remove black cap and fully undo one of the bolts to releas elock pin thingy and (once you have removed the non drive arm) you may need to tap it to get it out

Put it all back together with grease on the splines and the threads of the bolts, it wont fight back so hard next time.

Youi dont need to use brute force, just completely remove the bolts, any washers and the rubber thingy and it will slide off

it was all removed. hasn't been touched in a while. accumulation of sticky crap holding it there.

happy ending.
