This is an update for all those 1000s who mailed me after a few posts ago.
I have just collected 5 housings from my local CNC machine shop wanting to be ready for when the new leds arrive at chez Trout .
which if no bad things happen will be late Sept early Oct which is a bit of a bummer as I had hoped it would be before the darkness arrived.
The first one I will be building using some xpe leds this weekend for my own use untill the XPGs arive .
so a few pics to show what is happening

The Specs for the techy folks of the Lumen Liberator
6 XPG R4 leds if driven at 1000ma will push out 345 lumens each
6 carclo 10 mm square optics wide / medium / narrow / eliptical to mix and match to make a nice beam.
1 Maxflex driver to take the 14.8 volts from the battery and magic it up to 18 volts ish for the leds .
waterproof switch .
cable and connector to suit battery pack minimum requirement is a 14.8 volt li ion pack
the bar mount is in development at the moment and can only get better.
it will also be helmet mountable using some yet to be sourced velcro straps
No idea on the real price just yet but it wont be £50 but it will be the cheapest 2000 lumen light out there ( and it can be turned down so no whingeing about too much light).
If it turns out there are some folks interested in having one of these lights then mail me and we can go from there.
I NEED ONE OF THOSE ! 😀
Interested!
Registering interest troutie.
I'm deffo interested. It's gonna be too warm to ride here in the day, so a decent light for night rides is needed. Also solves the wife's "what to buy hubby for Chrimbo" problem this year!
I am very interested too Trout
very terminator/robocop
send details to rocketdoguk(@)gmail.com if and when please
interested here too i was gonna mail you today as it happens lol as my joystick seems to have given up 🙁 what sort of amp hour battery would be needed for a six hour run time
Add me to the list.
Cool looking light. When will we see you on Dragon's Den asking for capital to go global?
If you got lots of emails i suspect my on about converting my cateye may have been lost amongst them. Anyway, i've been paid so if you've got some XPEs in stock - would you be able to convert it?
Mick
would that be 6 hours on full power it will draw form a 18.8 volt battery 1 amp so the runtimes are pretty easy a 2600 mah pack will give you about 2.5 hours on full I will ask Smudge to advise on battery sizes and stuff
very interested.
looks like it was designed by cylons.
excellent.
Looks good!
Add me to the list please.
Very interested!
ah cheers trout to be fair prob only med power with full in bits but its hard to say without seeing in the flesh its prob brighter on half power than my current exposure enduro turbo 🙂
Very interested indeed Mr Trout
What are the chances of the light being available with a connector that would fit my Light & Motion batteries?
Cheers
Pete
As requested in your post, you have email.
Looks and sounds great, I must be near the top of the list trout 😉 Will smudge have the details of what battery to use for this, wouldn't mind getting that sorted this month. Cheers.
£500's good! Whats the longevity like etc?
(Editted for Drac) 😉
are you joking hora but it wont be £50,
No idea on the real price just yet but it wont be £50 but it will be the cheapest 2000 lumen light out there ( and it can be turned down so no whingeing about too much light).

🙄
Hi Trout, as ever put me on the list!
You can put me down for one of them ****ers.
woo hoo lets melt some trees.
Aye,
As per my email to you too Troutie, let me know when the LEDs are in.
Cheers,
Mark
Kingofbiscuits
not sure where to get one but if one can be had then it can be fitted no problem.
Gary-m
You are one laid back person 🙂 but as you paid for a housing a year ago and then waited for the new leds to arrive then you must be inline for no 2 TL-Liberator No 1 being mine
No Idea what Hora is on but yep £500 is ok by me.
I will try and reply to all the mails when I have got over the shock of the response.
in the mean time for the diyers who may just get the bits and solder it together this is it nearly finished.

Oh and a request please if you email me please add your stw name too to ease the confusion in my head.
Dr I will now trawl through the inbox and sus you out but in the morning as too much red wine tonight
No worries Troutie,
Just keep postin updates here and I'll keep emailing you!
add me as well.

Is this trade advertising ?
<ducks>
still want to buy one troutie, looks fine and dandy
I'm interested too
A 2000 lumen Troutie headlight to go with my 3500 lumen Trout bar light, i'm sorely tempted.
Is this trade advertising ?<ducks>
Its not trade, if it was theyd cost twice as much. I class Trout as a public service.
I'm interested too, how will it compare brightness wise to a P7?
Allthepies
last year I posted a similar thread on here and also donated to the stw beer fund at the same time this will happen also this time so hopefully wont be ruffling feathers 😀
Richyb
I can show you the comparison of a current trout light compared to a P7 high quality light not the bastid .
both pics taken with the same settings within 2 mins of each other
P7 light approx 900 lumens
[IMG]
and a troutlight MK1 theretical lumen count of 1100 lumens
[IMG]
and space reserved for the TL-Liberator 2070 alledged lumens
.
.
The smaller youre lights are going the neater they are looking MrT
A nicely built 2.6Ah Li-Ion battery is just the right compliment for about a 2 1/2hr light time.
Excellent, even more interested now.
Mail sent 🙂
how big would a 5200mah battery be then smudge (that said carrying two little ones would be more useful probably 😉
Approx 40*40*150mm (could pop it into a bottle if you want) OR 40*80*70mm
mmm thinky thinky 😉
mail sent
scott
Has it really been a year Trout? Anyway good things come to those who wait.
I've mailed you direct
Email sent...
😯 OMG HELP 😯
I have been fitting a shower as ours went kaputt and come back on here after just checking the email, Never had so many mails that were not spam before. I will respond to all who emailed soon Please bear with me .
I cannot believe the response and If only 10% have a light then I am going to be busier than a very busy thing.
I am nearly in a position to say a price for the light head and just need the friendly CNC person to give me a price for some matching mounts as I dont want cheap plasticy ones as they need to be fairly strong to survive an over the bar experience.
Hi Folks
I have tried to email all who mailed me yesterday but if you did mail me and have not had a reply it is because of my bad computer skills
so please resend it and I will get back to you
Thanks Trout
YHM
Thanks mate.
Just been to the anodisers to collect these little beauties
[IMG]
which colour do you prefer.
Is that a matt and a gloss black, or just the same black twice?
Anyhoo...emailed.
Pink?
I think its a gun-metal and a black.
Trout, i wish id have seen these before i ordered my Darkness Obliterator in black, the gold is a really good finish, and would have gone so well with my bike 😉
mmmm my black one looks nice 😉
you are correct there swift gun metal and black the gunmetal came out darker than I really wanted
Picked yours up too but sadly in black now.
Blacks all good, maybe the next one i get will be gold....
im interested too dood 🙂
Trout you anything to do with these guys dsatr-led, the light got a good review in the latest cycling plus. More expensive than your though.
Must be Deesta?
Gary tell me more .
or better still a photo of the article to my mail would be better.
I only know That Steve (Deesta) sent off one or 2 of his lights and one of mine to Whatmtb mag for a review the what mtb one comes out 23 sept.
I'll scan it trout and e-mail you a pdf - that okay. What mtb and c+ are both future publishing anyway.
Gary that would be great thanks.
ok so your :wink:s is black then
Gold would look lush on my Trek EX8!
YGM
OK you IT lot I need a little help here I would like a little trout engraving on the front square each side
and the machinist is cool with that but we need to find a little piccy of a trout for him to use I have tried but my search skills are very lacking so please help me out here
[IMG]
Hi trout, think you might need to post something more specific for this (will probably need an illustrator).
What size area is the engraving going in (mm x mm).
I assume it's lasered rather than engraved? Do you know how fine detail can be achieved?
I work for a small tea company in Harrogate and might be able to persuade one of our very talented illustrators to help!
Do you have any ideas for the logo?
Just of top of my head, the word TROUT but in the shape of a fish (ala DARWIN or JESUS logo)?
Ta.
PS thanks for getting in touch with my mate with the HASE, he is very excited!
Can I have mine sautéed with a little butter and white wine please 😉
CHB
Not bad ideas in fact brilliant
the space is 14mm by 14 mm
and it is engraved on the cnc he tells me and some of the stuff he has shown me is pretty good .
a yorkshire tea trout even better .
your mate left a message tonight on my mob so will ring him in the morning the pics he sent it will be a challenge to get it right but would like to see the bike in the flesh
Garry its grilled no butter or wine think of your figure
Trout, the light looks really good, I'm very interested - I'll drop you an email.
Please don't tell those pics were took on an ironing board!!
Finishes the lights of fantastico troutie, I take it the clamps will be anodised to match? Love the gold one 8)
blooody hell
those pics remind me of fred salmon ???? brand bars from the 80's
Are you deffo not doing those 2 cell jobbies you had a while back? Or can you supply the electronics for it?
will have a word with a designer.
Would really help to know finest point size (line width) the engraver can to.
I suspect it will be more mongoram than monet to get max effect!
£500's good! Whats the longevity like etc?
(Editted for Drac)
HUH?
Just picked up on this thread. I. Must. Have. One. Of. Those Lights.
Troutie, that really is a terrific piece of work, and the bracket is a wonderful touch, much better than bashing on a Lumicycles bracket. Anyway, YGM. Nice work, sir, chappau!
Any news on the cost of the battery unit, I have the price of he light.
Nice little logo monty
CHB
just got this back from the paul cnc man
Hi Chris
I was keeping an eye on the forum last night. The response is fantastic.
The pics of the anodized ones looked really good.
I think its brilliant hat the guys out there are so responsive with the logo design.
The smallest engraving tool is approx 0.25 dia the next size up is 0.5mm
Anyway if anyone does come up with a design then ideally it would be done on AutoCad and then I could down load it straight onto my CAD-CAM software.
However I suspect you may get a pencil drawing I would have to try and copy it or possible scan it into my software but I have not attempted that before but I think it can be done.
Cheers
PAUL
if you need an autocad dwg give us a shout, send me the image you want and i can trace it into solidworks and produce it from there.
oo - yes please! I'd love one of those lights. Email on it's way...
Cheers Wors thanks for the offer .
to answer your other post the self contained unit is in the USA lent to a guy doing a bit of racing and he is bringing it back later this month so work has gone on hold for that project .
