just bought some dura ace bar end 9 speed levers, fitted them to the drop bars today and found only 7 clicks in sis mode, wen you shift the lever from 3rd to 4th it seems to move quite a far distance a bit more than the rest of the shifts.
im using a xt rear mech, sram chain and cassette, anyone else had the same problems
check the arrows line up properly for indexed shifting.it should click when you turn the wire foldable half circle handle bit.
Sounds like the inside part of the shifter has rotated from the correct indexed position. I had a similar problem, took the cable out, took the shifter apart,re-set the internals positions as per the Shimano brochure, remounted on bars, re-inserted cable and all is good.
beat you!
how do you take the shifter apart
Shimano website should probably have the info.
Should be a screw in the centre undo with a flat blade screwdriver.
do you take the whole shifter apart, i know how to take the shifter off the mount
Just take it off the mount.
It's weird how the mis-aligned version still feels like it should work.
i have sorted it out thanks for your help, i can go riding tomorow
