Unless Trek have changed their ridiculous sales policy which almost prevented me from being able to buy my partner one for her birthday (they will only sell in person to the rider apparently), Specialized.

Trek probably a better frame; thought the Hardrock was sold as an 'all terrain bike' ie. not a proper MTB?

Trek dont allow mailorder, so you need to go to a dealer, ive got a trek 6500, nice bike, shame about the headset, bottom bracket, seat, bendy handlebars, poor paint finish, but all replaced by me,as opposed to a warranty. and now its a great bike.
