Who is currently offering the best travel insurance for Alps trips this year. Previously we’ve always used Snowcard but it’s been a few years since we’ve had a proper MTb holiday.

Good question. We use (I think)the post office one. But I’m interested in what others are doing.

The Post Office travel insurance policy wording excludes mountain biking and cycle touring. I’m interested in providers who cover mountain biking so I’ll dig around and see what I can find.

Yellow Jersey and ST members sometimes get a discount

Just make sure if you need to claim to follow the bold wording in the terms and conditions

I use SportsDirect as they let you choose the level of hard core-ness you want to pay for.

I am 74 and have found age limits on some of these insurance packages. Can anyone recommend a policy for my age and beyond. This would be for road, gravel, xc mtb and hiking.

Re age restriction:  www.insureandgo.com maybe worth looking at provided no wintersport (agelimit 65 for that). Have no personal experience with them!

Am currently using BMC.

Do a search on here for it as I've explained it all prevoiusly  but the claims management team that they use tried to get out of paying for the helicopter rescue as we didn't inform them beforehand.

We used the same wording back to them

They did eventually pay out

Thanks, I’ll have a look at the other post. Last year a friend had a small issue getting his surgery paid for by Yellow Jersey as there seemed to be crossed wires somewhere along the line. The hospital charged his card after we arrived home as the policy didn’t pay.  He was reimbursed though after a few calls.
Good to know they paid for the helicopter, but crazy to think they’d expect you to be able to let them know in advance! Very clear in their own words though that if unable to at the time to contact as soon as possible when able to.
