Anyone else heading out for the Trans Nepal?
Just got the 4-months-to-go email, which reminded me to sort out flights, entry completion, insurance and jabs...
Think I'm going to head out for 3-4 weeks in total, have the benefit of knowing a lot of adventure operators out there, so hoping to go kayaking, rafting, riding and trekking whilst there. just need to plan it all and work out my flights!
Currently trying to work out whether i'll stick with 1x10 or stick a front mech and go 2x10... 1x10 is fine in the alps, and the profiles don't look too bad, so may just man up and stick with 1.
Your calf definition says you can handle 1 by.
gonna test the gearing on the bigger wheels in the alps in oct, all being well...
Personally I'd put a front mech on in all honesty- after 4 weeks riding himalayan things in a slightly competitive environment I reckon you'll appreciate a granny gear. You got all the bits? I've got some you can have for nowt if need be (front mech etc.)
t'is only 5 days of racing, can't imagine riding the rest of the time. but yeh, i may borrow them off you if needs be, as i can't see myself deviating from 1 by other than for this
