Had a ride around the monkey trail this evening with friends , whilst winding our way up and along a certain section i could hear some others catching us up so i stopped at the side to let them past , not ONE thank you from them , it really annoys me when people are so arrogant on the trail , they starting complaining about my friend who stayed in front (glad he did just to piss them off ) saying he was slow etc . . . . Couldn't stop myself saying "what happened to a thank you ? You @%€$s . Anyway i ended up catching them up on a different section and pushing them along . . We're all out to ride and have fun so why be like that ? Rant over 🙂

Move on, continue with your life.
They'll continue to be stress heads.
The same sorts who feel they have to over take everyone just for the crack on the motorway, but, by the same token maybe you were slow, PEDAL DAMMIT! 🙂

Why respond like that?

There was a couple of times coming down Snowdon over the weekend where I was concentrating so hard on the trail that I forgot to say thanks.

ETA: I should add that I do try and say thanks / no probs as a matter of course but sometimes you just get lost with other thoughts.

Some people are just knobs, riding a bike doesn't effect this. Don't let it worry you. I can't say I say hello to people just because they are on bikes, but if someone is letting me pass or showing some courtesy I will reciprocate

"Trail love" should be given with no expectation of return - it's karma innit 😉

Was at cannock yesterday evening - it was very busy!!
Past a few people and said hello to them all - so hopefully it wasn't me

Think the climbing on the trail has caught a few people out who are just used to pottering round the dog - there was alot of people off pushing

Good work to the trail builders - just need some no skidding signs - got behind a chap that locked up before every corner/potential jump - knackering the trail up and covering me with dust - still didn't bother me too much (although I didn't say hi tho him after I passed) 😉

Surprised you just didn't go absolutely mental like the commuter I overtook on a canal path lastnight who then proceeded to overtake me, block one of the bridges on the canal and threaten to push me in/ beat me up then refused to let me past and then stopped again and tried to fight me.... I'd say your reaction was fair his ridiculous! He was mental!!! I wasn't even going that fast :s

I tend not worry any more what is behind me, only what's in front of me...

Not sure what the etiquette is out on the trails, but the problem I find is when you start thinking about other riders behind you, you lose concentration and make mistakes...

If you are behind me and I am little slow, (not saying I'm slow, there will always be riders, faster or slower than all of us) tough sh*t you can wait, then when I am in a position to let you past...and the trail allows you to pass, then go for it....otherwise bloody wait ....otherwise how are people supposed to improve riding & skills etc.

Sorry, but I do get really annoyed when riders come up behind and shout 'coming through'.....am I supposed to just stop and let them through.....no why should I...I have just as much right to be there...

May be someone will correct me ? 😉

I am always polite and say hello or thanks whilst out on the trails, just manners, sometimes stopping for a chat...luckily most of the times and places I ride, riders are ok....

There are just idiots in all aspects of activities and life...just keep spinning! 😉
