FTMc owners... what seat post clamp do you use on your FTM Carbon?
Frame arrived the other day, the top of the seat tube has a shaped bit to it, so a normal clamp will look daft.
Spoke to on-one today, they said that they just use a normal clamp?
This is the top of the seat tube,
There's gonna be a big gap with a normal clamp?!?
Original FTMs had a shaped seat collar bespoke to fit that profile supplied with the frame.
I'd be back onto On-one or Brant (this should summon him ๐ ) and insist on the right part.
I looked at running a normal QR clamp on mine and wasn't comfortable with the effect on the carbon, but I'm not an engineer.
Mine came with one that was shaped to fit.
Yeah bit poor of On-one to fob the OP off to be honest ๐
hmm, the frame was shown with a clamp in the photo, when I asked if it should have come with it the bloke said that they'd taken the photos of a frame that had been built up and forgot to take the clamp off.
Not sure I believe that 100% TBH. ๐
One of these?
if its a funny shape you should get one with it IMO...
wierd, that might be it, the guy at on-one said that the titus clamp was a normal shape though?!?
WTF?
Anybody with the frame know if that clamp is the right one?
On the specs at On One it says its a 34.9mm, and that's a 35mm so it should fit,
I think the alloy frames take a normal shaped one but the carbon ones are a funny shape..
MY FTMc frame only purchase came with an angled collar that fits the frame perfectly. Early ones were Non-QR, but my replacement frame came with a QR one.
Dantsw13, does it look like the one in the link above?
Some frames had clamps. That was a bonus.
Stock frame doesn't.
Photo could be confusing.
Standard clamp will fit or angled one in link is nicer.
I am in Bangkok and its Saturday. I'll be in China on Monday.
Mail me your Sales Order details and I will attempt to get one sent out for you, and the web copy amended so confusion doesn't arise again.
Thanks Brant, I'm heading over to the store on sunday now anyway so will just buy one. Just wanted to make sure it was the right one.
