Repeated references to how 'boring' the subject matter is, despite many responses. Newest photograph shows brick wall as only view outside of kitchen. Seems like some sort of postmodern take on the banal nature of modern life. Only seem to be seeing one side of 'kitchen' so wouldn't be surprised if this is all a set up in the Tate or something, Damien Hirst windmilling furiously beside it to infer a the hands of a clock quickly ticking away.

Sorry Jim - Five might be the boring answer, but it is also the correct answer.

Re; kitchen window - there's actually a fairly pleasant view over rooftops. Lovely sunsets round here, too.

expecting a nice 4hr break from posts while you try and thread those effin cables.

Don't I know it. Any pro tips?

If being a student means you can afford a 5, where do I sign up?

Bird box not cat proof. In fact it's basically a drive-thru for moggies.

Looks cat proof to me unless cat's can now climb up brick walls like furry spidermen!

'Fortunateson' is indeed a fitting username.

You'll have somewhere to keep the coursework now 😀

They can, especially when assisted by washing lines and little ledges. Cat could also reach down from the wall lip and flick off the top.

Guilty.

This is painfully slow going isn't it?

Headset now installed - surprisingly easy given I was using a soft mallet and kitchen worktop instead of proper tools...

How do we know this is actually live and not just a collection of old photos you're uploading?

pic of a Mackrel balanced on the bike would convince me it's current, I think.

It was light when he started, it's now dusk, so could be live. A mackerel would be good to see though.

Bet OP got up at 11am, and has skipped lectures for this. Probebly gone for a quick nap now followed by Home and Away, so don't expect much more progress 😉

OP delivers - good effort.

Now are you struggling with the lack of a brew due to the poorly placed bike blocking access to the kettle?

Nice work with the fish, also loving the extra commentary from lumpyspaceprincess.

Straightend out wire coat hanger worked for threading the gear cable through the swing arm on mine. shove it through back to front and stick the cable outer on the end then carefully pull it back.

I'll do the brake hose when i need to bleed them.

Mackerel with orange & harissa glaze
Ingredients 1 x 300g/10oz mackerel , filleted and skin on
1 tbsp plain flour
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 small orange , grated zest and juice
1-2 tsp harissa paste (to taste, as brands vary)
25g pine nuts , toasted
small bunch coriander , very roughly chopped

Does say small orange, not sure what size yours is.

Should have known STW would call me up on the herring...

Took a LOT of filing, but ISCG solution now working. Does anyone have any top tips on how a Silentguide should be orientated on a suspension bike? I only ask 'cos I've seen loads of slightly odd looking setups around and about.
Will try the coathanger trick on the hoses...

Time for another brew...
