Just asked the nurse and she said 'Chopper? Can't thnk of another one, (sic) BMX?'

'that's all I need' I said.

So that's that settled.

UK ? Probably Chopper or Raleigh Shopper.

Worldwide ? Stumpjumper ?

Edit ...I'd dearly like to hope not though !!!

The best selling vehicle in the world is a certain bike. And neither is British or American,

Generally? Chopper or Penny Farthing maybe. Interestingly both bikes with mismatched wheel sizes. Moulton has to be in there right?

Why has that never come up in 'daft names for bikes' threads before?

An Ordinary isn't a bike, it is a style of bike - there are plenty of variants.

The most famous bike must be the Lotus. Instantly recognisable worldwide.

I'd say that the Raleigh Chopper would be second (if UK-centric), but it was derived from the Schwinn.

Don't know if there in yer book but the Raleigh three speeders built after ww2 and up to this day are both significant and a brilliant design.
