No en-route pics today. Went for an Essex back lanes ride on the gravel bike from Dunmow around to Halstead and back. Only one close pass in 3 1/2 hours of cycling which is an Essex record for me. Pics of the main event at Little Book Cafe.
Coffee, cake and bike

Bike against a wall

Can we spot what is missing from picture 2?

I'm guessing you didn't go down Brick Kiln Lane/Clay Lane in Stebbing or you'd have had your wheels pinched (well maybe in the '80s)

@reeksy I did venture along part of Brick Kiln Lane, wheels remained on the bike. It was well before primary school chucking out time though. Stebbing now looks like an expensive place to live nowadays.

@sandwich - that was my primary school. I think it’s a Steiner or Montessori school now! Was a nice spot in the 80s… but if anything went missing the first place to look was the travellers down the lane…

Just back from a week of glorious sunshine in the Lakes. I've never seen the trails up there so dry.

Had a cracking ride up Lonscale Scar fell on Tuesday. It really doesn't get much better than this...

Dark wet morning. Got a shock when the local trail Emu (Fluffy) appeared from behind a tree in a random location and proceeded to pester me for snacks.
Had to give the bike a hose down at work… security guy asked if I was riding so fast I had to cool the tyres down.

Shortish, but fab ride tonight in the Derbyshire Dales with a couple of mates, ending up with Hoffmeister at the local.

Was rather impromptu too, considering I'd had a BBQ and 3 beers before setting off

Another 2 KOM:s though...

My first proper off road ride on an electrical bicycle.

Still hard work but I got to ride up stuff I normally only ride down and add an extra loop.

It was fun and that’s what it’s all about.

Hot, hot, hot Nethy/Ryvoan loop. The sky is so blue and hills so green that the horizon looks like it's been painted.

Great pics those @jimmy748 - reminds me of being in Molini two weeks ago.

Used most of the long light last night in the Yat. Stunning conditions, great ride and a couple of beers on the river. Feels a long time since we were muddy and cold, shivering outside the pub!

Early Solstice ride up to the local stone circle (Nine Ladies, Stanton Moor). Lots of hippies, psuedo hippies and a mix of people really, all seemed to be having a lovely time.

I had planned an epic ride today that was going to be all the best trails at Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory and ride between each location. The weather forecast for biblical rain put the kibosh on that so I just headed to Ballater and rode until the rain came…….it didn’t 😂.

I rode ‘Final Destination’, ‘E.T.’, ‘Mastermind’, ‘The Green Mile’ and ‘Heartbreak Ridge’.
41 miles and 6000ft of up, legs were shot at the end.

Then an evening retrace of the morning walk to try and find Reeksy Jr2’s lost sunglasses. Found somebody else’s instead 😣

Went off the track a bit on some known/unknown trails. Mostly found bracken, nettles and brambles. Enjoyable though and dodged the rain with the excuse of a mid-ride pint

And who knew one could sweat so much on an eeb - humid hell
