Well, I'll kick off the new (mid)week then.
Glorious morning, so out after brekky and before a WAH day today.
Probably my last day of riding near Chatel. I didn’t expect even to be able to ride. But the south sides of the valley are much more snow free than I expected. The northern side, and under the trees, are still icy death traps though!
The E-bike has impressed me. The trails I’ve found this time round involve a brutal climb, that I simply would not be up for on a normal bike. Even at max assist (it’s a lightweight Mondraker Neat with a TQ motor) my heart rate is well above 170 on the climbs.Â

Seems the sun and warmer temperatures of the weekend were very short lived.
Showing 4 degrees this morning but feeling much colder with a biting wind.
A ligh dusting of snow at the top too.
Â
Â
Took an extended lunch and got out locally on the HT. Sun/cloud but pretty cold; back to February-like temperatures. Trails in decent nick, but we've showers due tomorrow and Thursday so wanted to get out before they greased up again!
Good day riding station to station right across the Dales. Sun and occasional snow; curlews, lapwings and skylarks all present and singing.

Â
Great stuff @montgomery. Train assisted point to point rides are brilliant - feels like a proper journey rather than riding around in a circle all the time
My efforts from today. We're supposed to be back in the office more often nowadays.... luckily I have some brilliant commute routes (living in Leeds is just bloody ace for this) and when the trails are as good and prime as they are at the moment I can't help myself...
Ride in. 30 mins of trails, drops, jumps, a great view over the city, a few bits of road to string it together then some street/stair set lines right down to work's front door.
Ride home. 90 mins worth of of great trails, singletrack, tech, drops etc. very little road on the whole route back.
Everywhere running prime
Mint 👍Â
Absolutely prime conditions tonight. Even blinded by dust at times. No bracken either and a clarity of air that makes your lights 10 times more effective. Fantastic loop around Llangorse mountain with stunning sunset over the lake towards Penyfan.Â
Â
After getting more than 300mm of rain this week I didn't even want to risk the gravel yesterday. It's a sad state of affairs that gets me doing a road ride. Took Reeksy1 on a little lap. We did take a tentative dirt track which wasn't too bad.
This afternoon I went for a run through some rainforest partly to see how rideable it was. Amazed to see the water must have gone through so fast it's looking very good.
Here's a nice tree next to a fire trail. Â
Â
Bit of a spin round this morning trying to avoid the rain showers, which I mostly did until I was almost home.
Did feel like I had entered The Dutch Headwind Cycling Championship for most of the ride.🤣
Â
Â
Anyone know what film this bridge was in?
Â
Daylight and dust on yesterdays after work ride.
Â
Just home from a week in France. Came home to sunny skies and dry trails. Can’t say that’s happened too often!
Well, it's Tuesday - must be time to update the MWRPT!
MTB Commute this morning, Golden, frosty, and a selection of the best urban trails in North Leeds ...
Solo ride this morning taking in some of the bits of Inners that I've not ridden for quite a while.
Lunchtime ride with a coffee stop. Bit of exploring of some woods, road and farm tracks. Lovely weather (apart from the wind).
Â
Â
Â
Perfect conditions commuting 👍
Local trails are as perfect as they get at the moment. Dry, but not so dry they lose grip, fast, and not overgrown at all. Probably the best conditions for at least 2 years
Beautiful afternoon on Cavehill in Belfast. Hard to believe the trails are so dry.Â

XC loop round today with Mrsstu.
45KM/1200Meters.
Another glorious day to be out in the hills on a bike.
Shame one of the hills was on fire.
Not sure if it was deliberate or not but we've had warnings about wildfires recently so who knows. Â
Â
Â
Â
@singlespeedstu: you guys ride 45km with no backpacks or hip packs! Respect. That’s too long a walk home with a flat tyre for me.
I know almost all my photos are taken in the same area - Cavehill in Belfast. But the weather is so good, and the trails in such excellent condition that I just can’t stop riding. And see no need to go further afield while it’s dusty.

Both got on the bikes.
1 x water bottle.
1 x Oneup pump and multi tool.
1 x tyre jabber with spare strips.
1 x tube.
1 x quicklink.
Anything goes wrong with my bike and I'll "borrow" it of Mrsstu's bike and let her walk home I'm sure she wouldn't mind. 😉
Â
Only time I ever use a pack is for backcountry Alpine riding.
Just a very quick 35 mins bez around the woods on the way back from work in the gravel bike today for me. A bit like @johnhe I just can't not ride when it's like this outside!
It's been a fantastic winter and spring for riding. What a change from this time last year!
Another beautiful day today and I knew I wouldn't get out later so sneaked out on the road bike for sunrise, took a wee loop through Forteviot and Dunning.
An odd feeling to be out on the Sunday best summer road bike while still dressed in all the winter clobber.
Â
Â
Another day in paradise. Well at least until the rain comes back at the weekend.
35KM/1700 Meters.
Was going to have a day off today but couldn't say no to these conditions. Â
Â
Â
Like many here, I've been making the most of the current conditions and as a result my legs are knackered... in a good way though, the conditions are just SOOOOO good.Â

Dumyat summit sunset:

Local trails, early morning, sub-zero temps and awesome trails:

Weekly evening group ride, a quick stop on the way to the meeting point:
Â
Weekly evening group ride, watching others catch up on the climb through the trees:
Â
Another local early morning sub-zero ride today:
Indeed. That bit was cleared a little while ago.
There was another blockage a little further down the trail last week too.
So grateful approaching it today to see some piles of sawdust on the floor and a totally rideable trail again.
Â
There has been so much work going on over there recently it's unreal.
What side of the hill is that - Big Baw etc?Â
I've not managed along to anything Tweed Valley in far too long now.
Yeah that side.
Trail is Jawbone.
Big Baw is a little strange now.
The second half of the trail has been completely felled.
Trails is still pretty much the same just feels totally different with no trees.
@a11y where are those other pics taken? I've ridden so much recently around Doune/Dunblane/Stirling that I feel I SHOULD recognise them, but don't 😎
@13thfloormonk, mostly a bit further south-east from Stirling 😀Â
1/ Dumyat summit
2/ Trail network south Falkirk, nr Callendar Estates trail centre & Falkirk Monument
3/ Access trail into Kippenrait - looking back over fields above Dunblane, towards Ben Lomond etc.
4/ Woods beside path between the forestry (aka dogging) carpark and the Dumyat access gate
5/ Trail network south of Falkirk, Easter Strip trail
6/ Trail network south Falkirk, looking east towards the Milk Barn
Honestly, I think I’d forgotten that spells like this are the reason I love mountain biking so much. This is the last dry day. I had an idiotic grin pasted on my face during the whole ride today. It was beyond perfect.
Absolutely spectacular morning in the Ochils.
Blairdenon, Bengengie, Craig Leith and down...
