I was thinking of going up there this weekend to 'try it out' kinda thing.
Anyone been up there lately?
Was hoping to spend a day at the lecht and then do mount keen second day.
Would it be worth the trip?
Couldn't say anything about the Lecht but I've done Mount Keen a couple of times. Both times descending to Glen Mark, well worth it. You need good brakes!
The guys @ the Lecht have done well with what they have, managing to squeeze 2 runs out of the space available to them. Not sure if there's enough to keep you entertained for a whole day. We went up not long after the first run opened, and had a good day, although most felt it was too expensive.
You could always join us for a night ride on Sat, for charridee mate. Details from CycleHighlands in Ballater.
There is a place further down the hill towards tomintoul called well of lecht. It is one of teh smugglers paths. Could be worth a peruse of a map and some investigation? 🙂
