I agree, seems most videos nowadays feature this behaviour. I'm all for open access to these places, but there has to be responsibility that comes with the access. Churning up or skidding around trails not purpose built for mountain bikes is not responsible behaviour and this trend could very well see some changes to the access legislation in future.
