Just saw the advert for this. James Cracknell doing one of those slightly mad snow 400 mile plus races. This Thursday 9pm on the Discovery Channel.
This might have been mentioned before, but looks like it will be a good programme.

It might indeed be a good programme, but I do find his self destructive tendencies rather disturbing.
Having watched the episode where he got hit by the lorry while 'racing' across the US, I had to ask exactly WHY he was 'racing' across the US?
He wasn't racing against anybody, not trying to beat a record, just proving what a hard man he is. (And he is certainly that, while being a mentalist in the Alan Partridge tradition.)
And the episode before, about the Marathon Des Sables - why exactly was he trying to race it (properly race it this time) while deliberately eating so poorly? I missed the point, unless once again it was make show how hard JC is!
As I said, I find it a little difficult to watch him because I think there is something loose in his head.
I just watched the across america one, and was confused as I didn't see him racing anyone, I assumed I had missed something obvious... still that jog through death valley looked a touch tricky.
Thats the kinda race I could win quite easy.
(the type in which their are no opponents)
Anyone watch it? Was thiking of adding Discovery Channel and if this programme is good I will ๐
I saw it. He can come across as a bit of a cock but I thought his struggle to finish was pretty inspirational given the circumstances and his injuries. I quite liked the doctor telling him to MTFU as well which made a change from all of that "It's ok to quit ..you've done so well" bollocks you often hear.
Alan Sheldon though..animal.
