Oops. I read a similar story on a business travel site about an elderly couple from Dallas who were overheard chatting with the steward in business class on a Lufthansa flight to Germany. The American guy said: "We had a great holiday last year in Munich so this year we thought we'd try Munchen!"
The steward replied: "That's good to hear, but Sir, don't you know that Munich and Munchen is the same place?"
"What? Oh gee.... I guess we messed up. Oh well, never mind."
"No Sir, never mind; I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves. Now, how about some of this caviar?"
"Cayveear? Cayveear? What's that?"
"Oh, you know Sir, fish eggs!"
"Great! Give me two!"
