Had my first decent run out on my boardman fs. Top day at whinlatter but the crank came loose and some of the suspension bolts. How tight do the linkage bolts need to be? do they preload the bearings or as tight as. Its my first full sus bike but I don't trust halfrauds to do it. That aside its a cracking bike ๐
Cheers, Graham
I only do suspension bolts to about 6 Nm max and use loctite 222 to stop coming loose, crank bolts vary if its like my middleburns where the bolt pulls the cranks onto the axle then do them as tight as possible (I even step on the allan key a bit) also use loctite 222 to keep from working loose.
they shouldn't pre-load the bearings but they also needn't be uber tight, find the manufacturers rec torque settings, clean the threads and threadlock them.
Thanks for quick reply. Cranks sorted its an fsa comet. Used park tools site for that.
