[#5529896]

Has anyone else seen this? Is it a stw member that made it, person called 'pike'.

http://www.antisuperstarcomponents.com/index.html

Had a bit of a chuckle but thought it did get a little personal on the website, what on earth happened in order for someone to take the time to make a website, twitter and Facebook page?!

Court case notes seem to have been deleted.

Does It make you think twice about ordering? though I have had no problems in the past with pads I have not ever asked for support either, que Octoporn.....

Blimey this guy must have been royally pissed (are we allowed to say that word?) off with them or just have an immense amount of free time on his hands!

Does get a bit personal and unnecessary imho.

Any idea what the court case was about?

I too have had nothing but good service from them when buying grips, pads, discs, mounts etc. Wouldnt buy a wheel off them mind which I would imagine is what this chap has had issues with. Can't imagine going to court over some brake pads haha.

Superstar get a lot of stick on here but the couple of times I've used him I've had no issues.

Fantastic. If he'd wanted worse pictures of the director, I could have supplied him lots. I used to kayak with Neil intermittently.

There has been some seriously, geniunely horrible stuff written on the net about the owner of SS and his partner over the years.

As far as I'm aware, a couple of the people involved used to post on here.
I have no idea if they still do.

I've only ever met the bloke (Neil) once - he seemed like a nice bloke - helped me with a mechanical.
Never bought anything from them though.

A big fan then pyro! The bike world is an odd one for sure, too small to make an ass out of yourself and get away with it, in my line of work idiotic behaviour is almost rewarded....still, at least he is 'famous' now....

This is one reason the Internet can be frightening, not nice to have stuff like this floating around about yourself I imagine.

Maybe another business trying to discredit.

I'm sure using their logo isn't legal.

This person seriously needs to ride their bike more.

The guys who can't let a Superstar thread pass by without instantly recounting ancient history, or posting octopi...

TJ is the one that comes to mind, never missed a chance to get stuck into SS but some of it was just nonsense. That Gorrick XC race, someone wore out a set of SS pads in a couple of laps, that was "UNFIT FOR PURPOSE" "NOT ACCEPTABLE". Someone posted that they'd got the same with Hope, he responded "weird" and "were they bedded in". Stuff like that.

Didn't elfin go off on one when he was banned? I'm sure he did. Crashed the site/denial of service type stuff etc. allegedly, perhaps, possibly?

you need to work on your internet stalking! Full details of someone who has registered a website are just a click away if you didn't know. I'm not posting anything as he looks like he might be the kind of guy to turn up at your door...

Fruit on here really did not help himself
he alpha tests products in the marketplace never mind beta test
Blames customers for any issues etc
Has poor customer service
Erratic quality control

He kind of deserves what he gets IMHO but this is OTT to he point you wonder about the persons sanity

Maybe Junky, but posting that you wished him and his his partner dead, amongst other things?

Classy.

Anyway, I'm out of here before it gets nasty. Again.

Just adds to the legend of Superstar 🙂

Most of my bikes are on SS sintered pads, none of which have attacked me, and the wheels I had off them resolutely refuse to catch fire or otherwise harm me.

It's all rather disappointing.

This sounds like a description of Brant/On-One and he appears to be worshiped here. Funny..
I think of O-O and Superstar in the same box: cheap, good gear, undercutting the profiteering scumbags. Although to keep it cheap something has to give and that appears to be quality control/customer service, so it tends to be a bit of a lottery if you get decent parts/service.
So far in the budget lottery with both organisations I have done ok..

SS parts ways with KS. I buy a dropper in their fire sale. One ride in a score-line develops in dropper stanchion.

SS says refund or upgrade to a Lev FOC?

There are some great people on stw but also some people who happened to own a bike and have personality-issues

I think he has tinkered with that photo. I met Neil a couple of times and no way is his face that grey or his hair that orange. 😯

+1 Like any mail order bike stuff, if you have access tothe internet to buy it, use the internet to google it first! (eg headsets poor, pedals great, hubs are novatec but with seemingly less lasting bearings so get the colour you want at knock down price but prepare to
change the bearings soon)
(Oh and the wheels! Although often you get a bang on well built set, I would add that you should budget for a re-tension/rebuild if you take advantage of the silly cheap wheel prices -you try buying just the parts for what he sells them for [s]built up[/s] loosely assmebeled by work experience boy)

He hasn't done himself great favours ^ on this forum but his products and prices are good as is his service really.

The bloke at a race who received the wrong part. Everyone makes mistakes however if you've got a race maybe you should be better prepared. Then to try and botch/badly fit the part and try to get a refund/kick off on the internet.

Well, says alot about some of the amateurs elbows out, sniping, who race with their 'must place within 20th at all costs' mentality. 😆

I have had nothing but positive contacts with SS but the wheels ,forks and other stuff I have bought have been fine, the real issues occurr when things don't go so well. There have certainly been problems with other online bike bit suppliers highlighted on this forum that have not attracted the same level of opprobrium that SS has. This just seems totally ott.

Strangely, the one part of the site that might explain the madness is not up.

indeed.

although it's pretty easy to find out who has set it up and some brave soul might contact him for details.

Very much a case of "Do tell them your name Pike!" and phone number, and email address, and street address.

I can't find his twitter. I wants to see the scary man!

I buy brake pads from SSC, but I'm no fan of neil/fruit and wouldn't even contemplate buying anything with bearings in from him. There are too many stories of terrible CS.
