How do these compare, platform size wise, to something like DMR V8s?

I've just realised I live right next to an awesome 4x course and want a play, sadly my huge feet dangle off the end of my V8s.

Any other suggestions? Light and cheap would be a bonus, the Superstars 350g for £60 sounded like a bargain.

that style of pedal is everywhere now so shop around.

nox cycles, sixpack, nuke proof, nc17 - all have the same style

They actually look the same shape as their older ones - I got a pair for £15 when they were flogging them off cheap.
If they are, they are nowhere near as grippy as a V8, although I haven't tried changing the pins to improve things.
The Nano-techs look better to me.

I went from V8s to the nano-techs. The Nanos are far superior, both in platform size and grip. They are nice and thin too so you feel closer to the axle. I always felt like I had to point my feet inwards to use the V8s and could feel the edge of my foot falling off the sides, but I just plant my foot down on the Nanos.

Yeah, it was the Mag Lites I was looking at, similar to the Nanos but a good chunk lighter.

As I say, it's just the platform size I'm concerned about, V8s are definitely a bit too small for my size 13s 🙂

Bang on, exactly what I was after. I do exactly the same, shifting my feet around to try and get centered on the small area. Cheers! 🙂

Perfect, ordered them with the cheapest delivery option. Within 24 hours they arrived, quick spin tonight and they're infinitely better. Just what i was after!

Went for the cheaper Nano in the end, the Mag Lite looked a bit thin at the ends like the V8s.

Good choice! 😛

I reckon the alloy ones are a better choice tbh, I've bashed mine on loads of rocks so far, partly due to the wider platform, but they are solid!

3 weeks in mine seem ok, a lot wider than the V8s they replaced, foot not slipped off them yet, so, so far so good

Try Burgtec Penthouse flats if you can afford them, my mate has a set and he says they're the only flats you'll ever need!
