Ahhh, Lightning! The finest beer there is. I remember when it was only available in a couple of pubs and then only between May and October. Happy days, sun-dappled chalk downs, Bula hats for slalom markers, isn't it? Wasn't it?

I've got a bottle of Purity Ubu waiting with my name on it today. Yum.

As a concession to summer I will be forsaking the usual wifebeater in favour of...

[img] [/img]

Its definitely not ale weather. You can keep your Cobblers Old Nob-rot and suchlike for the depths of winter

Summer Lightning at the Woodmancote Arms... and no need to wait for summer. Mind you, we discovered that Wednesday evening is curry night at the Barley Mow in Walderton so I may have to switch to Doombar or Adnams.

After a little tumble on last nights ride, I intend to consume everything in the house to assist with pain relief 🙂

Strong cider will be my starting point 😉

I had a pint of Summer Lightning tonight! I started with a Barn Owl but it was the end of the barrel. By the time I was ready for my second the Summer Lightning was on - it was a pleasure!

Pale/summer beers are bloody popular at the moment aren't they? I'm a fan of darker brews myself, (thought if needs must........) current favorites are Jennings Snecklifter and Butcombe bitter.

£5.00 for 3 bottles at Bargin Booze? I'd best get 3 of each so I have an equal number. 😀

Had a nostalgic evening on snakebite last night. Can't think what possessed me. Although it might have been the early evening tequila and cocktails. 🙄
Beer? I've given the filthy stuff up for good. Till tomorrow.
